Of course some people assume that being Mortgage brokers Toronto precludes us from giving great advice. There are those who think our only job revolves around Toronto mortgage rates and such, but that’s far from all we see as our total responsibility to our valued clients.
Getting you the home you want and will be happy with is part of our mission and, that said, here’s a few things you need to consider before signing on the dotted line.
You should try to look ahead five to ten years when shopping for a home. That means you’ll need one that can grow with your plans for the future and a family. For example, how many bedrooms and bathrooms do you think you’ll need based on these predictions?
Think about the number of parking spaces you’ll need as well. Do your plans involve a home office someday? It might not be a bad idea to set aside a room for that now rather than move again when the need arises.
Remember location is one of the most important choices you need to make and this one needs to be handled with a rational as well as emotional side. One of the first factors you need to account for here is the commuting cost. A house in the countryside is very peaceful and a dream for many people, but the serenity of living in one can be eroded away with lots of extra time stuck in traffic.
People often opt for what’s called a sustainable neighbourhood instead. These generally have easy to find transportation or stores and other amenities within walking or cycling distance. Look to see if the traffic is slow moving and your children have a safe, clean place to play as well.
